New Problem Printing TPU after Many Successful Prints
I have an MK3.9 and I have printed days’ worth of different TPU projects.
I had issues initially and found lots of great topics on it.
After replacing the idler lever arm https://www.printables.com/model/596608-nextruder-modified-idler-lever I had no issues.
The other day I went to print something I have printed multiple times and the tpu was not flowing properly. It would barely feed into the extruder. It will barely purge.
I have manually fed it through to the nozzle.
I tried loosening the tension springs, I tried tightening them.
I tried putting the filament in a dryer because it’s been more humid.
I ran all tests on the machine.
I removed the nozzle and cleaned it.
I replaced the nozzle with a new one just in case. Brass and hardened.
I have not tried a larger nozzle because I only have the 0.4 but I’ve printed dozens of hours on those.
I even took the extruder apart and cleaned the gears etc. and recalibrated.
I have tried multiple different TPU brands that I have successfully printed before.
Even left lots of slack hanging into the enclosure.
Nothing is working.
What happened and what else can I try? If it won’t even extrude properly because it’s not feeding changing settings in a print profile won’t help.
Is it possible the gear teeth on the feeder on the PG assembly are worn and just can’t grip? I print a lot of abrasive filaments.
When I switch to any other type of filament I have no issues.
