Z min endstop acting up

Hey guys,

So came into work Monday morning and Mr. PRUSA decided he doesn't want to work this week! 🙁

I keep getting the Z endstop wiring error.

I swapped in a spare sensor I had but it still gives the same problem.

I did some soldering on the board a while back after the heatbed connector burned but that's miles away from the Z min. The board looks fine visually.

Any ideas ❓ ❓

So fast forward to almost 3 weeks later after DHL lost/found my replacement sensor and all is good again.

PRUSA wouldn't sell me a real sensor since my machine is second hand so I had to buy my replacement from Xagyl in Canada.

It solved the problem but now I'm having calibration issues. This sensor seems to be WAY more powerful than the original. Going to have to try push it up a lot farther in the mount.

Will post an update if I get it sorted in case anyone else is thinking of buying one of these.

This sounds ridiculous, they should be able to sell spare parts even if the printer is second hand.
If this is the case no one would dare to buy a second hand Original Prusa.

Re: Z min endstop acting up

All I was told is you only have access to the spare parts list/shop in your account page if you are registered as having bought the machine from them.

I have the original order number from the guy I bought it from and everything but because my account doesn't have a MK2 purchased I can't view the spare parts section. Go figure.

So I've confirmed that the Xagyl sensor's range is CRAZY. I've pushed it up so far that it's jammed up against the piece where you route the cable through. And I still had to go to 0.700 on the live adjust.

So this sensor may be a perfect SIZE replacement but it's detection range is vastly different. So be prepared for a lot of adjustment if you do buy it.

It should be a sticker on the frame with a serial number. Get that and mail support stating you want to buy the sensor.

Yup, have that too. But I might as well be talking to the wall as trying explaining it to the guy in chat 🙄

Anyway, the problem is solved for now so I don't really care.

My live z is at .950 for PLA. Madness! But fuck it, she works.

Well, that didn't last long! 😆

Looks like the XAGYL sensor is no good after all.
