y axis endstop came off

so printing away happily , and checking om my print, seemed to be some skipping in the layers, so stopped the print, Y axis belt seemed a little looser than i had set it during the build, and then i noticed this.

sooo break out the superglue, hoping to get a temporary fix, so i can print out a new part, ( whisch is currently printing )

reading the forums some people are saying its possible for the motor bracket to flex. and someone linked some slip over braces to stop this, so you think this slight flex may have been the cause if it had flexed and the bed had hit the homestop?

Hi Neil,

Well, Crap ! However I do not see how this part would have been damaged by motor movement ... Maybe the endstop was not properlly triggered and the carriage have forced on it ? Or the screws holding the endstop became loose ? Hard to tell.

You can glue it with acetone, it's working very well on ABS part. With that temporary fix, you should be able to print a spare part, STL are available here: https://github.com/prusa3d/Original-Prusa-i3/tree/MK2/Printed-Parts/stl

yeah spare is done, and it seems to be holding well, when i flexed the crack slightly the top left corner of the crack seemed well bonded and was what was holding it together the rest just seemed exceptionally clean,

just gonna get OCD now the parts are gonna be mismatched , Lol

still despite the growing pains i have no regrets choosing prusa as my first printer, and for anyone looking to buy one, get a kit, it will prove invaluable in troubleshooting things for yourself ( still working on my Z height offset lol )

Well, you just have to print every other parts with the same color 🙂

Attention, extruder part should better be ABS !

Re: y axis endstop came off

This happened to both of my machine within days of each other, one printer is two months old and one is a week old.... ,can't believe it. Noticed both of them today... Both broken.

Printing new stocks pieces now and I'm printing the reinforced ones linked above....
