XYZ Cal Fail
Hi all. My printer which had previously been working fine can no longer run the XYZ calibration successfully.
The 4th point (the left middle point) after starting the XYZ calibration can not be found. The sensor goes back and forth over the point for a long time before timing out.
My pinda is already as low as can be.
Any advice for me? ❓
Re: XYZ Cal Fail
check that your pinda is still working properly in every position of the x-carriage.
might be that the cable has gone defective (due to the continuous movement) and you need to repair it.
check the probe with the calibration-> "Show end stops" menue (z should alter when you put some metal underneath the probe).
check this at every position of the x-carriage (you can disable steppers first, and move the carriage by hand).
if everything is still ok, it might be that the probe lost sensitivity, due to a tiny change (increase) in it's supply voltage. if so, and you know your electronics, i can suggest to test this little circuit.

Re: XYZ Cal Fail
While the printer can't do the XYZ calibration, it can do the Z calibration successfully. If the sensor lost sensitivity, I want a new free replacement probe.
Re: XYZ Cal Fail
The hotend does not crash into the bed, so it seems to sense the bed at least.
I don't know why it won't find the fourth XYZ point

it's not sure that you can blame the probe for it. tiny changes in the supply voltage of the +5V provided by the rambo board and even a few degrees temperature change (we're going to get sommer soon) have an effect at the sensitivity of the probe.
and as i already mentioned in a few postings: not every pinda probe is the same, some of them are quite sensitive, others are nearly deaf (short sighted).

Re: XYZ Cal Fail
My probe isn't going to get any closer to the bed safely. The sensor is absolutely above the point; why can't it see it?
Re: XYZ Cal Fail
Well, I wrote a letter to support. Let's see what they say 🙂
