XY & Z accuracy/resolution of MK2

What's the XY & Z resolution & accuracy of the MK2 ? The well built ones, I mean 😀

Z is 0.05 mm I think, but I did not find any info about XY.

I am going through a lot of marketing material (Ultimaker, etc). I am unable to find this information about the MK2.

Thanks

MK2 uses NEMA17 16 step microstepping with 16t pulleys and GT2 belt, so it should be 10um (100 steps/mm).

Re: XY & Z accuracy/resolution of MK2

But as David has previously pointed out, XY accuracy to within 1% of the part dimensions is pretty good. In most cases that will be significantly greater than 10 microns.

With regard to the Z axis, full steps would generate 40 micron resolution, but with microstepping, theoretically 2.5 microns is possible...

So, working on the advertised resolution which for Z is 20 times theoretical possibility, X and Y would be 200 microns (0.2mm).

Also, remember that belt & pulleys are not as precise as threaded rods. Tightness matters.

Of course, 10um is waaaay beyond manufacturing and assembly tolerances of MK2. Materials used for printing play role as well.
By my experience the user can count with the precision of 100um (0.1mm).
