x- and y- axes stuck / how to shut down printer
HI folks,
Yesterday, I finished calibrating a new MK2S-kit. Final calibration was done with Jeff's "Life Adjust My Way", and it looked great. Then I proceeded to print both the frog and the gears from the SD card, flawlessly!
After the final print, I used the LCD controls to move the print head all the way to the front right, unloaded the filament from the menu, and powered the printer off.
This morning, I powered the printer on, and attempted to use the LCD controls to move the print head, and the x- and y- axes are ... stuck. You can see in this video (ignore my children talking 🙂 )
1) any idea how to fix this?
2) any idea why it happened? Is there some shut-down procedure I should be following other than what I described above?
Thanks!
Re: x- and y- axes stuck / how to shut down printer
turn it off wiat 10 seconds, and turn it back on again...
then use the auto home option in the menu's
the Mk2 has min x and min y endstops, then calculates soft max x and max y positions
the printer is confused at the moment, it doesn't know where the build plate or extruder are... chances are the z axis is also confused.
auto home should sort it out
regards Joan

Sometimes the cleverness in the printer catches us out!. 🙂
