WHAT TO CHECK BEFORE BUILD – HELP
Hi all,
I just ordered my Mk2 and Multi-material upgrade. 😀
But I have a problem, I live in Brazil and Prusa don’t ship a whole kit there. So I have sent my kit to the UK and then I will pick it up from my family when I visit them. BUT, I want to check all the parts ASAP when they arrive so that if there is a problem I can get it replaced before I go back to Brazil.
Will I have to build the Mk2 kit, test it, then upgrade it to multi material and test that too?
Or can I test individual parts before building? and how?
Thanks,
🙂 🙂 🙂
Re: WHAT TO CHECK BEFORE BUILD – HELP
Hmm.. i guess you could test individual components (does the board boot, are motors turning, heaters heating, fans spinning) by just plugging everything together, count the parts, etc.
But in the end, I doubt it would be terribly conclusive.
Besides, it's probably faster to build the printer, see if it prints right while still in the UK and then take it apart far enough to ship/transport back to Brazil. Personally, I think i'd risk it and take it back to Brazil in its original kit "form" with no prior assembly and without ripping open all the part bags and having to repack everything. But that's just me.

The parts are tested as far as possible before shipping.
Personally, I think I I would go with Stephan's preference and just take the kit home to build and test. If you rush to build/test then it will go wrong.
