What the heck happened?!
Woke up to this catastrophe!
Printing with PLA. Started a 16 hour print and went to bed. Checked 4 hours later and this is what I discovered.
Re: What the heck happened?!
Congratulations. You have a nice looking blob or tumor. (Search the forum you will find quite a few of these.)
The cause is poor bed adhesion, which is typically the result of a bad Live Z setting and/or a dirty bed.
This post may help:
Don't be discouraged. Many of us have had them when we were first starting out. Once you get Live Z and clean bed down, you will not ever have one again.
To fix: Heat the hot end and carefully remove the blob. It is possible that you will break the thermistor wires when cleaning. That part can be easily replaced. If the hot end will not heat, then the thermistor is already broken, and you will need to heat with a hot air gun or equivalent.
Sorry. I know this is frustrating, but you will overcome and this will not happen any more.

Re: What the heck happened?!
Update!
I used a spool of ABS instead of PLA
What a mess. I was able to clean up the mess, replace the nozzle and heat-break. Re-calibrate the nozzle and start printing again.
