I would guess e3d Kraken.

Re: What is this?

Kraken requires water cooling and 4 extruder motors and heaters. Not possible with RAMBo mini.

Re: What is this?

Well Josef has been teasing a PCB too: https://twitter.com/josefprusa/status/771033035735269377
Four spots designated M$ ($=[0-3]), each with 4 holes inviting a header to be installed. Who knows?

The name "super switch" would lead me to think it's some sort of daughterboard to switch which extruder motor gets controlled. Maybe the 8 pads on the left are for heating elements to be powered?

Re: What is this?

Each section has a pair of MOSFETs so it is possible to switch both heater and motor rails.

There would appear to be a couple of downsides though - such as waiting for each heater to warm up.

Also looking at the 4 colour print, each section has side walls the same thickness as the outer perimeter. That would not be the case with a model sliced for a 4 extruder printer.

Re: What is this?

Perhaps it's not like the Kraken with 4 nozzles, but a variation on the cyclops? (that could solve the heating problem) Just thinking out loud here.

I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Re: What is this?

I hope they test before selling as a working tested kit.

Looks like a dual extruder with a new colourprint software. Or its a new colourprint software rather then any hardware. Instead of layers you can choose sections. However that would just take years to build anything 👿

I hate waiting. I get all waitgry 😈

Re: What is this?

Josef has also teased a screenshot of an all new GUI frontend for slic3r that they are working on...

Re: What is this?

I agree that the PCB's are some sort of stepper motor drivers for a 4 filament extrusion system, the 4 colour print would tend to back this up. The last I heard Josef and his team mention on facebook and twitter, they were working on a multi-material extruder with just a single nozzle rather like e3d's cyclops, but using a single v6 hot/cold end...

I noticed that he used the hastag #OnlyAsUpgrade on the 4 colour print...

Re: What is this?

Seems reasonable to only offer a feature like that as an upgrade, not everybody needs multicolor prints and I would expect such a thing would considerably jack up the cost.

Re: What is this?

A "diamond hotend", perhaps.

Perhaps one of these:

Time will tell. 🙂

Assembled MK2.

Re: What is this?

I'd prefer something that uses a normal e3s hotend as the Diamond hot-end is limited to just a 0.4mm nozzle.

In a post on either Twitter or Facebook Josef said they were working on a Y style dual extruder, in other words 2 colours or materials feeding into a single hot-end. This new PCB/print sample seems to indicate 4 motors, so 4 filaments... So maybe they have come up with a way to feed 4 filaments into either a single e3d v6, or, into an e3d chimera with 2 going into each side? That really would be cool!

Whatever it is Josef said it will be revealed a couple of weeks...

....
Good point. I don't think PR would go with something that would limit the nozzle diameter. Plus, the E3D Chimera or Cyclops makes more sense, as the Diamond hot-end is too bulky for a Cartesian XZ-head, like a Prusa.

Assembled MK2.

Re: What is this?

Prometheus V2 System 😎

Interesting you should mentions that... Josef showed a PCB that appeared to have 4 motor controllers on it, and mentioned that they were working on a similar system to the Prometheus... so I'm thinking two e3d v6 Full hot-ends each capable of being fed 2 different filaments! Hence the 4 colour print out that Josef posted! He has mentioned that it is NOT a Kraken...

4 Colour print: https://twitter.com/josefprusa/status/771408270544240640
PCB: https://twitter.com/josefprusa/status/771032102456483842

Just noticed that Josef posted an artistically blurred photo of a prototype board which looks an awful lot like the RAMBo Mini... Maybe an updated version? I think I can see a single power in socket (24v?), 3 power out screw pairings (heated bead, extruders x 2?), the usual 5 motor connectors, the usual 6 end-stop connectors, the usual 2 LCD ribbon cable connectors, the same USB connector and the same reset button, the same 3 fuses and the usual 5 thermistor and fan connectors...

Prototype/Beta Board: https://twitter.com/josefprusa/status/758009214858096640

I would guess that the artistically blurred photo RAMBo mini is for the MK3, so if I'm right about just a single 24v socket then I'm guessing it will have a new PSU as well!

Oh well, that dashes my hopes we'll get something more powerful like the new DuetWiFi...

Hmmm, just read a that Ultimachine (who designed/make the RAMBo mini) have a new large size board called the Archim... so could this be the Archim Mini? If so we could be looking at an ARM 32 bit CPU (ARM Cortex M3 ATSAM3X8E), 84MHz, 512KB memory. It runs on a MarlinDue fork (32bit Marlin)...

Re: What is this?

Me too. It is annoying sometimes that im limited to 1 colour. But then it makes me design in a little more detail.
