Titan Aero mount for MK2S
I modified the existing MK2S X carriage to accept a Titan Aero. Existing solutions pull it forward so you lose 15-20 mm of Y. I tucked it in tight so that the position of the nozzle and PINDA relative to the X-axis rod is exactly the same as the stock solution. This forced me to shift the top linear bearing such that you do lose 3mm of X, which I feel is a good trade. You gain over 8mm on Z. Overall volume increase. This requires a short body Nema 17, which you would want anyway for benefit of titan.
Note: I do not yet own a titan aero. I used the cad files from e3d to design this.
I would really like someone who owns a titan aero to help test this. I built a fully working Prusa MK2S in CAD so I am fairly confident of the fitment. However this may require some tweaks which I can turn around fairly quickly. I will "pretty" it up when it looks solid.

Construction intent:
Print (slic3r):
rotate aero mount around x 90 to lie flat -> object settings: infill 80% for strength (other two can be normal infill I suspect)
rotate kinda mount around x -90 so arrow points up
x-carriage should be flat already
need supports -> use "on build plate only"
I have had good luck with these support settings on PLA:
- contact Z: 0.2
- pattern angle: 10
- interface spacing: 0.5
- XY: 70%
build:
X-carriage mounts like stock to the X-axis rods with zip-tied linear bearings, etc.
Make sure top two bearings are snug against outer lips to leave space for edge of gear.
Fit pins of aero mount into holes x-carriage and screw two ends down with 2 M3x18 and nuts.
screw PINDA mount onto x-carriage, lining up arrows, using M3x20.
mount Nema-17 short body on left side of aero mount with wires toward back and route through wire channel.
Mount titan on right and screw together.
Thread PINDA wire from bottom up through mount and exit slot right behind fan along with fan wire.
Rotate PINDA body to wire is toward back (it is not centered). It will be snug fit.
From here, install should match the Prusa MK2S instructions.
You will need to modify firmware to account to 3:1 gearing of titan extruder.
I don't think you have to do anything else, but you might lower X limit to 247. I added a bumper for safety.
Things to take note:
Any clearance problems with Z screws left or right? Look closely at rightmost fan screw. It should clear, but let me know.
Since heater is so much higher, is there enough clearance on wires at bottom of x-carriage? if not, route next to PINDA and I will adjust.
Is mount stable on carriage? I can thicken supports more.
Is pinda mount stable, doesn't rotate? I want to improve this.
It may look like a couple zip channels are compromised but everything should clear. Let me know.
Any clearance issues with extruder gear or body?
Anything else I missed in my modeling or you would like me to add/change?

I was just pointing it out. That sort of information is extremely painful to pick out of the code, and these forums are sadly devoid of technical information.
The Aero in a normal orthogonal mount won't clear the fan, but it looks like you angled your mount so that it fits (?)
Edit: finally cracked open the configuration. (My original numbers were measuring the STL, because the OpenSCAD is unreadable.)

Got it. Cartesian. I thought you were giving me a decimal distance.
It's actually (23,8.8) and that it was I replicated. Yes, I had to angle it about 8° to make it line up.
Are you able to help me test this?

What are the specs required for the short body Nema-17 to work with our mini-Rambo?
Does anyone already know the changes for firmware to adjust extruder gear ratio to 3:1? I haven't gotten to that yet.
I am working on a part cooling fan solution.

The problem is :
I will not update/updrade until there are no restriction. So full printing area as the original Prusa is guaranteed and no firmware-mods are necessary.
But nice priject, will keep an eye on it.

You have to update firmware to account for the 3:1 gear ratio on the extruder. I don't think there is any other solution.
As for full printing area, this solution is giving you more overall printing volume:
stock: 250 x 210 x 205 = 10762 cc
this: 247 x 210 x 213 = 11048 cc

Apparently this forum doesn't allow you to edit your first post so you can't keep folks up-to-date. That's a bummer.
Anyway, I added a fan mount assuming a pancake motor (20mm). I will make a larger one later and tweak the nozzle after I get some feedback.

Another question: Do I need to adjust the left X limit or will it resolve itself due to the endstop? I've been assuming the latter. Does the auto bed leveling assume an offset from the left X limit?

I don't believe you will needs to adjust anything else, other than the X Motor wiring (it will need to be reversed).
The only issue you may have is that you printer may have issues printing layers above 0.1mm due to the number of steps which will need to be generated.

I actually have a new Titan Aero sitting in a box here right now, waiting for the pancake motor to arrive, the one I ordered is the same Thomas Sanladerer used in he's review I think "Short Body Nema 17 Stepper Motor 1A 13Ncm/18.4oz.in 42x42x20mm Bipolar 4-wires" (from a german seller on ebay.)
Is that the one that you were planning to be used on this mount?
Long story short and kind of off topic, but this is how I ended up ordering the Aero:
Being a 3D printer noob and just having replaced the hotend after a failed print that encased the hotend that barely survived thanks to the silicon sock i had mounted and then hastily replaced the nozzle and my best guess is that i got the heatbreak loose and caused leakage that i had misinterpreted as just some pla that was stuck over the heater block and I was to scared to mess with it as the heater and temp cartridge cables looked beyond cleanup.
However after noticing leakage in new colors than burned PLA i came to the conclusion I messed up when tightening the nozzle and got the heatbreak loose.
So ordered a new replacement hotend etc, all good now and printing again..
.. And apparently being a hoarder of replacement parts and also "accidentally" ordered an Titan Aero to play with, but I do not have the time to test this right now but will look forward to trying this as It sounds like no firmware changes are needed (don't get me wrong, I have plenty of experience of arduino programming/building from previous "My Sensors" projects etc.) but only having to change the G code starting script is tempting.
But on the other side i did plan on changing to the cable chains and possibly changing x and z bearings to igus as I already did it on y (with RJZM-01-08 bushings with an aluminum shell) and this mount in the current state looks like it would make that hard, or I could go for the Igus without aluminium shell that has the same external size as the original bearings... and the current cable chain mods would not work this modified x-carrage?
Sorry for the long post but looking forward to trying the mount out in the future, and also do you have a render of the aero mounted on your mk2 digital model?

Why does X wiring need to change? I am not changing that motor or belt? I am reusing (modified slightly) the original mk2s x-carriage. only the extruder mount is different. What am I missing?
Are you talking about extruder motor steps? I know many other printers use geared extruders without layer limits. I understand it will limit print speed, but I don't understand layer limit. Not clear what you mean.

I have been thinking about cable chains too. How did I make it harder since I still have the mk2s screw pin solution? Tell me what you want.

The complete E3D Titan extruder has the belts connected differently and requires the X motor to run in the opposite direction. I did say you may need to change...

There are limits as to the maximum number of steps that the MCU can provide; it is very under-powered by today's standards and it is running some highly complex code. There are also minimum limits which you may come across in use, hence my general statement that you may find the whole printer, once upgraded, may work better overall at lower layer heights.

The aero does not include anything other than the extruder and heater and no printer mounting as far as I've seen. I am providing the printer mount for the Prusa so the belts attach the same way.
There are limits as to the maximum number of steps that the MCU can provide; it is very under-powered by today's standards and it is running some highly complex code. There are also minimum limits which you may come across in use, hence my general statement that you may find the whole printer, once upgraded, may work better overall at lower layer heights.

Well that's ultra disappointing. I have not read that for others using the regular titan which would have the same issue. I will look into it.
