Temperature Dropping, Fan stopping

I'm currently experiencing a weird behaviour when printing a tall and thin model (~15cm high, 3.5cm diameter): The temperature starts dropping and then bouncing all over the place, sometimes even the fan gets switched off to get it back to heat up. This doesn't happen with more squarely models or anything flat. Anybody got an idea what i could be?

I'm using the silicone sock and did a PID tuning, usually the temperature is a completely straight line.

+1 for what PJR said. I had the same issue and it was just a loose molex connector.

Thanks, i'll check that. But just to be clear, this only seems to happen with parts that are rather high than long or wide.
Right now i'm printing something else, and the graph looks perfect (without checking the connector, yet):
