Steep overhang warping
I've been printing a few scale headers to be used on r.c. sprint cars however I'm having issues with one of the pipes which has the greatest overhang to it. As it's printing this pipe curls up at the end resulting in a very rough bottom surface when finished.
I'm printing in pla, and some with petg with nearly identical results, with supports enabled with .1mm z distance. I've tried to reduce temperature by 10 degrees as well as increasing fan speed but it doesn't seem to have helped any.
Re: Steep overhang warping
Try reorient your part so that the sharpes overhang is pointing towards the fan outlet.
Another thing I needed to to sometimes is to use custom support which actuall touched the printed part and held the overhang down. Use one or more single wall suppirts which are ok to remove.
Cheers,
Carsten

Re: Steep overhang warping
Tried it with that side facing the fan and it didn't make much, if any difference.
Re: Steep overhang warping
Then the overhang is just too steep. Have a look at this (crappy) photo:

(Google does not allow this?!)
On the right are my testparts as oriented on the printbed (but of course showing their backs) you can see that the part oriented towards the nozzle fan is a bit better than the other ones.
The four parts left are printed with the same setting but a different cooling nozzle. ( https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1906567 )

Re: Steep overhang warping
I seemed to have solved the issue and now my most recent print of this is super smooth on the bottom. What it is, is that since there are 2 offsets for support, Z offset and X/Y offset, at a certain angle one begins to restrict the other, in my case the 60% X/Y offset was restricting the ability to have .1mm Z offset so I changed the X/Y offset to .1mm as well and it turned out fine.
