Spitfire_plates_gcodes meaning
If I print Spitfire_fuselage_1.gcode and Spitfire_fuselage_2.gcode do I need to print Spitfire_fuse_1_long_conv.gcode ? I don't see an explanation of this in the user guide.
Re: Spitfire_plates_gcodes meaning
What motor are you going to use? How long is it? Spitfire_fuselage_1.gcode is designed for high performance setup (described in manual), Spitfire_fuse_1_long_conv.gcode is designed for low performance setup. Choose one.

Oh I missed that thanks. I also noticed that there is a problem with the first layer for the spinner.STL file. I sliced it in slic3r and you can see when looking at the first layer that it is not right. Impossible to print. What can be done?

By cutting the stl in slic3r and removing the first layer it prints fine. There is definitely a problem with that stl file. I wonder why others never encountered this before.
Re: Spitfire_plates_gcodes meaning
Because author states that the STL files are *not* compatible with Slic3r. I sliced complete Spitfire and Mustang in Simplify3d with no problems.
Re: Spitfire_plates_gcodes meaning
I'm pretty new to all this. Can you provide some insight into the difference between Slic3r and Simplify3D and why it doesn't work with this STL? Thanks!

Maybe I'm doing something wrong but considering it's offered by Prusa directly it definitely should work within Slic3r as well. You can try it and see, maybe it'll work for you.
Re: Spitfire_plates_gcodes meaning
Are we talking about Spitfire printable model from 3dlabprint.com?

Yes but it's an included model in the new 1.7.5 package from Prusa.
Re: Spitfire_plates_gcodes meaning
Well, the package includes userguide and Slic3r is not mentioned as working slicing software for this model. Use Simplify3D, CURA or MatterControl. Settings are provided for all of them, CURA and MatterControl are free.
Slic3r will not work as far as I know.

95% of the files are available in gcode only so the other files should be supplied in gcode as well or made usable in slic3r. I don't think Prusa's intention is to have people use other slicers to print the extra objects out. It should work in slic3r and I would guess eventually it will be. Every other file prints fine in slic3r so it's no big deal.
Re: Spitfire_plates_gcodes meaning
Anyway, the spinner you mentioned should slice with Slic3r pretty well. Just try to enable Detect thin lines and enable Brim (about 3mm).
