Selftest fan error

So I've just built my Prusa i3 MK2 from the kit and it's failing the self test.

I get the message "Selftest error! Please check: Left hotend fan? Wiring error"
However, both fans do in fact work, if I manually turn on the fan in the settings menu the fan works fine.
The other cooling fan will turn on just fine if I preheat the nozzle (it turns on when the nozzle reaches 50 degrees, as expected).

So both fans are fully functional. I've double and triple check every wiring connection and it all seems to be working fine.

The strange thing was, when I first turned on the printer and ran the self test, it failed with this error.
So I opened up the RAMBO box, made sure everything was seated correctly and left the box open.
I then ran the self test which fully passed!
So I then turned off the printer, closed the RAMBO box and ran the self test again - which failed.
I now can't get the self test to pass again!

Can anyone shed any light as to what's going on?
I have checked the wiring connections and reseated them many times now.

Re: Selftest fan error

hmmm... as far as I can remember the selftest, there is some interaction needed with the user who has to confirm that the fans are running.

Re: Selftest fan error

The one time the selftest worked I answered yes to both.
However when I run the self test, one of the fans spins up and then less than a second later I get the error.
I don't get any prompts before it errors.

Re: Selftest fan error

Ok I figured out what I was doing wrong.

After selecting 'self test' it comes up with 'self test ok' or something similar. I was pressing the main button at this point thinking I was selecting the option to being the self test. But what I was really doing was queuing up an 'ok' command for the next prompt which was 'was the fan spinning'.
So simply not pressing the button the extra one time made the self test work.
