Prints detaching from bed halfway

Hello! So I'm new here and have been printing for only a few months now. I've been coming across an issue with my prusa where my prints would detach about half way through the process. I've been testing with the benchy file included.

My first layer looks pretty good, i've used live Z adjustment with the v2calibration print to try out different heights so i dont think my nozzle height is the issue but it could be.

I'm wondering if its a temperature issue, maybe the bed temp, fan speed, or even the temp of my room?

Another thing is maybe my print bed is too smooth or am I suppose to use a glue stick at all?

My stuff used to come out perfect and the prints would stick so well that it would take some effort to remove things so I wonder if my print bed surface needs stuff done to it or its because its been getting colder since I got my printer during the summer.

thanks!

Re: Prints detaching from bed halfway

I'm having the same problem. But at this point I can only work on it during the weekends. I THINK my problem stems from not using it for so long since it was delivered as a kit and I assembled it.. What I am going to try is an acetone wipe down to "wake up" the print surface first. Reading the forums it seems this really should be done at times anyway. I guess the surface can get stale, in a sense, and needs to be rejuvenated at times.

So try the acetone wipe down first then go from there. IMHO it won't hurt and its about the easiest thing you can do.

Just a suggestion,

Neal

Yeah, acetone wipe and lower live Z by 25 microns or so.

Re: Prints detaching from bed halfway

Just got everything up and running. For me the acetone wipe down really worked well. All seems stuck down nice and tight. Printed Prusa Logo and it stayed down. Now trying the Adalinda Dragon. Only thing that bothers me is I had to do the Life Z Adjust down to .975. Probably got another something or other to work out.

Hope the wipe down works as well for you.
