Outside finish

Any one tell what is happing.
This is a 90 mm diameter cylinder that is going to be 120 mm tall solid cylinder. Notice the bottom 12 mm has a smooth finish, and after that it gets rough on the outside. The cylinders that we make with an erectorbot are rough from top to bottom . No change to any parameters. The print was started Tuesday Morning. Total time to print is expected to be about 70 hours.

Looks as though you have some sort of filament feed issue. Could be nozzle/PTFE Tube/drive pulley or even the filament itself. Could also be things like speed vs temperature or even the spool holder sticking. Or the slicer.

Unfortunately this is something that you will have to go through one thing at a time.

Hi Jay,

Could you please share the gcode file ? It may help to understand.

Re: Outside finish

It is 100% filled with perimeters from inside to outside. This way the imperfection of the filament diameter is amplified throughout the print. You can use the tweak option from lcd menu a reduce the flow by 1%, until you have nice finish.
