New Printer and want to make sure the sounds it makes are normal

I received my printer on monday. better than christmas or a new iPhone. I purchased the kit and have concerns that perhaps the sounds it is making are not normal, since i am the one who built it. could someone please have a listen? Prints are looking great as far as i can tell.

yep, that's how an MK2(S) sounds like.
you should notice a difference between [silent] and [high power] mode as well.

Thanks guys. I have tried silent as well. The concern was i screwed up the build i can live with the noise. Its also on a cheap ikea desk for now that probably amplifies the noise. 😉

there are several methods described here at the forum to reduce the noise. simply use the board search function with "damper"...

Sounds exactly like mine did:

I thought my bearings where bad, Prusa support said it was likely resonance, and support was right. I put 2 layers of thin packing foam under my printer, and now its so silent, even in n"power mode", I cant even tell if its printing when Im in the next room.

Many will suggest you print those shock absorbing feet, but watch this before you actually go that route:

I feel like my foam solution is better, even if not quite as pretty.
