Great, thanks! Is there any difference between this firmware and the firmware 3.0.10 posted on http://www.prusa3d.com/drivers/ ? (February 18th vs February 21st)

Hi, you're welcome 😉 No there isn't any difference between 18th and 21st of February. It is the same version, just delayed posting from me.

is a reset and re-calibration required after update?

No, there is no need to reset or recalibrate the printer. Just enjoy the new features 😉

Re: New firmware 3.0.10 - MK2

I'm trying to update the firmware and getting an error:

Uncaught node.js Error
Error: EROFS, open './fw.hex' at Error (native)

This is on a Mac OS 10.12.3 updating from firmware 3.0.9 using FirmwareUpdaterV2.app

EDIT - there's another thread with a bug fix for FirmwareUpdater.

Did you try the updated version Josef posted in other thread? Let me quote him:

"Can you try updated version for OSX Sierra?
http://www.prusa3d.com/downloads/firmware/firmware_updater_v2_1_b.zip#_ga=1.39638691.1038707817.1477338191
They changed some privileges and it broke the updater :-/ but we found a workaround!
"

Let me know if it helps 😉

I can confirm that the special mac firmware loader worked.

Can you tell me more about the updated PID tuning? Including how to save it in EEPROM?

have a look at this thread.

you need to access the printer in terminal mode. for that you can either use pronterface or octoprint.

can it be added to next firmware

an option to use glass on heat bed in the same way high power and silent id able to be changed

also an auto home on first screen instead of have to dig in to calibration menu

Re: New firmware 3.0.10 - MK2

Can the statistics be changed ?

These kilometer, meter and centimeter mixed display function is terrible !

Use only one unit. For example :

5km 42m -> 5054m

Same for statistics for the printing object

7m 5.32cm -> 705.32cm or 7053.2mm

And another point.

Can the suffix (.gcode) from the printing-filename be supressed ?

This waste the space on the display and the filename is scrolled. For eyample :

v2calibration.gcode -> only v2calibration

Re: New firmware 3.0.10 - MK2

I agree - only one unit would be nice and .gcode post fix is unnecessary as only gcode and directories are shown 🙂

Have a look at my models on Printables.com 😉

Re: New firmware 3.0.10 - MK2

Is 3.0.10 supposed to have a "Calibrate E" option to calibrate the extruder steps? (I remember reading about it here in the forum but don't see that anywhere.)

Re: New firmware 3.0.10 - MK2

hi gabriele, it was included in the 3.0.10-alpha-2 ... but they withdraw it from the final release, due to "issues" they've encountered.
but honestly i didn't understand why. i checked it out and it worked fine here.

Re: New firmware 3.0.10 - MK2

Is it recommended to measure the actual filament consumed etc. and adjust the steps? (Mostly wondering if it's worth the effort in practice.)

I tried printing this, and got 99.7mm average on the Y axis, so I adjusted the steps accordingly, but hard to say if it was worth all the effort for a 0.3% error. (I mostly did it because I noticed that round objects were not really round, but I doubt this explains it.)

Calibrating the extruder is one of the most important things you can do. A properly calibrated extruder should have no over/under extruding.

If you are having issues with round objects not coming out round the first things you should check are proper belt tension and making sure the grub screw in the pulley is tightened against the flat portion of the motor shaft.

Re: New firmware 3.0.10 - MK2

Hello All

has anyone had any issues with the new firmware as far as first layer not printing enough flow.

after i upgraded firmware my first couple of layers printed will be very thin some times to the point it will not stick to the bed but if you get the first layers to stick it will print ok for the rest of the print and all dimensions will come out correct

if i run the v2 cal it prints completely different than before the upgrade, before the upgrade it would print a nice cal bead and i could live z adjust to the proper thickness but after the upgrade the corner nozzle clean strip looks normal and the first 1 inch of the V2 cal strip look normal but then it backs down on the flow to a very very small amount of filament that will not stick to the bed because it is not enough flow to to be flattened out by the nozzle. even if i increase the flow to 200% it still looks too small

i have installed a new .4 tip, taken the entire head apart, cleaned and inspected, hobb on drive stepper is good, no clicking or skipping steps, everything look ok.

any ideas, i am stumpped
