Motor Multiplexer Board Mouning
Hi,
While I was hitting the F5 button on my order page, a thought occured to me while I drifted off....
How will the multiplexer board for the new upgrade be mounted to the chassis? Is it intended to be screwed into the chassis like the controller? If so, are the holes already in the chassis or would we be expected to drill them ourselves. I doubt my hobby drill would be up to such a task, so it would be nice if could be added before my shiney new printer was shipped.
Anyway, off to check on my order status..
Sarah
Re: Motor Multiplexer Board Mouning
Yes holes already on the frame for mounting the board and case 😉 No need to drill anything.
Good question though that had not been thought about. Luckily Josef is one step ahead of us all. 🙂
Re: Motor Multiplexer Board Mouning
Thank you for the answer Ben, that is very good news 🙂
Re: Motor Multiplexer Board Mouning
Unfortunately I'm going to have to find a new place to mount my Raspberry Pi. At least I have ~2 months to design something.
Re: Motor Multiplexer Board Mouning
Or copy the holes and then mount the Multiplex to the Pi case?
Re: Motor Multiplexer Board Mouning
Is it possible to print flex materials with this bowden setup?
Re: Motor Multiplexer Board Mouning
Josef has said that printing with flex is 'tricky' with a Bowden, but they are working on a hybrid with direct drive to cater for that...
I'm sure I read a post somewhere that Josef had said that the new Prusa Super Switch will fit in side the RAMBo mini housing in the final kit...
He also teased a picture of a what looked like a new controller board (Archim mini?) so maybe that is also part of the upgrade?

As I just mounted my OctoPrint Raspberry Pi to those holes, I was thinking the same thing. Some sort of piggy-back case.
