MK2S XYZ Calibration failed

Hi,

I've recently but my MK2S kit together but I've been getting some spaghetti and poor bed adhesion.

When running through the wizard it moves the paper slightly during both the 'Find the Points' parts, but then in the next 'Improve the Accuracy' step it crashed into the bed on the 4th point.

Any advice would be really helpful.

Will

Re: MK2S XYZ Calibration failed

Hi William,

Try checking the relative difference between the tip of your nozzle and the PINDA probe - it should be less than 1mm and preferable 0.7mm. If it is higher than that the PINDA is too far from the bed and will try to keep powering the printer down.

Hello,

I adjusted it until is was damn near straight with a spirit level and not it's getting further in the calibration, it's giving me the 'XYZ calibration compromised. Left front calibration point not reachable." error now.

Re: MK2S XYZ Calibration failed

I just built the MK2S kit, as well and had the same problems. I first lowered the PINDA probe a little bit and that got me past the 4 point part of the calibration. I then got one of the "compromised" errors and adjusted the M10 nuts holding the Y axis assembly. Basically, I put the head in the home position using the Auto Home function. The PINDA probe was not quite centered (front to back) in the first circle. After moving the left side, putting the probe in the center of the first circle, I then moved the right side until the X axis rods were parallel to the lines on the bed. Eventually, I passed the calibration. Note that checking for parallel requires moving the Y axis from the home position. You have to adjust the left side first without moving the Y axis from the home position. Then you can move the bed forward to check for parallel.

I was following the instructions in the manual (6.3.5 Calibrate XYZ (kit only)). All of the error message are listed there with instructions on how to address them.
