MK2 now supported with AstroPrint with MK2 gcode
I just notice Astroprint ( fork of OctoPrint) now supports the MK2 with the Gcode start commands as a default:
M104 S{print_temperature}; set the extruder temp and wait
M140 S{print_bed_temperature}
G28 ; home all axes
M190 S{print_bed_temperature} ; set the extruder temp and wait
M109 S{print_temperature}
G80 ; Probe
G1 Z5 F5000 ; lift nozzle
At home I am now running with OctoPrint. But I still have a use case for Astro Print when traveling with the MK2:
AstroPrint is optimized for demos.
- It will create it's own wifi hotspot and allow you to connect to it.
- It has a cloud slicer. You can pick something thingiverse and just print it on the MK2.
AstroPrint is nice for printing brackets, zip holders, small things that you don't care enough want to have to slice.
AstroPrint may be good for other family members that just want the part but get bored when you try to explain what a slicer does.
Happy Printing
Re: MK2 now supported with AstroPrint with MK2 gcode
I just tried a print. It looks like support for the MK2 still needs some work before this is ready for prime time.
Re: MK2 now supported with AstroPrint with MK2 gcode
Not surprised; that GCode is a mess and certainly not right for the Mk2...
