LCD knob just died HELP!
I use my printer just about every day. It's nice and tidy, wires are zip tied up out of the way, nothing dragging on anything. If you saw it, you'd think it was professionally assembled. Just to get that part out of the way. I've made at least a hundred prints and all of them have turned out awesome.
That brings me to now. I was doing a calibration cause all of sudden I got a message saying my printer was out of cal. Ok, no biggie. After doing that, everything checks good, go to start a print and the knob won't press. It feels weird like something stuck inside of it. Finally I get it to make that click sound that feels really sturdy but it doesn't do it every time. And no times since posting this has it actually selected anything by pressing it in. It will scroll the print speed on the home screen (left or right), but it will not press in and select any function. SD card reader seems to be working, but again, i'm stuck on the home screen.
I checked my cables thinking maybe something shook loose during calibration but no, it's ok. Everything is nice and tight. I even removed the cables and reseated them. Still a no go.
Has anyone had this problem before? I'm wondering if I can buy a new knob and solder it on?
Thoughts??
Re: LCD knob just died HELP!
I would contact prusa.
But that display board is cheap if you have to buy one....
check to see if there's some debris under the plastic knob maybe.

Re: LCD knob just died HELP!
Ok so... wow. I just took the LCD out of the case, clicked the button a whole bunch of times while cussing at it, plugged it back in with out the case and BAM, it worked! I wonder if the case was holding the X button down or something? Odd since I've been using the snot out of this thing! Maybe that's why? The case can't handle my abuse! LOL
Anyway, all is well. Won't be useing the LCD case anymore I guess. Looks cooler this way anyway. 😎
Re: LCD knob just died HELP!
there's a file over on thingiverse that moves the case on top of the frame might help...
