LCD cycles through garbage troubles

Hello,
Today I was doing the daily maintenance on my extruder using the cold pull method, and noticed that my screen after I told it to do a cool down was cycling through garbage with nothing legible on the screen. Only half boxes that are full to half faded to something that looks like questions marks and etc, see attached photos.

I was wondering what have caused this and if their something I can do to fix this or is this screen basically dead?

Re: LCD cycles through garbage troubles

💡 check the two 10-wire ribbon cables between lcd and rambo board. maybe they are squeezed or show a bad contact at the crimped connectors. maybe you can try to swap them over at both sides and look if the problem is still the same.

🙄 when i have a look at the ribbon cables lying behind your lcd module all over your workbench, it might also be that you've killed the lcd controller with some kind of electro static discharge (esd). i remember that a user posted such an accident here at the forum.

➡ then you've to look for a replacement (you can get these lcd2004 modules very cheap from china, if you've got the necessary patience).
but take attention: at the prusa lcd2004 module the connectors are assembled with wrong orientation.

dem inscheniör is' nix zu schwör...
