Layers on angles are mangled badly

I have tried to print several of the objects from the SD card, and every one of the objects (Tree Frog, Adalina, Buddy, etc.) that have curved boady parts print terribly. It seem like the underside of angled layers (necks and bellies) are misaligned and do not stick together. It ranges from mangled to terribly mangled. See photos below...

I tried different scenarios to see if I could improve it:
> PLA and ABS work the same
> Nozzle adjusted to - 575 microns
> Tried different print speeds: 50%, 75% and 100%

Any thoughts?

Re: Layers on angles are mangled badly

The cooling fan (the pancake one on the front of the extruder) is designed to cool the filament as it comes out of the nozzle.

This is critical for overhangs (which is the term we use for the parts you are having issues with.)

Please make sure the fan is working, and that the "!HOT!" fan air director is allowing air to flow to just below the tip of the nozzle.

Any advices given are offered in good faith. It is your responsibility to ensure that by following my advice you do not suffer or cause injury, damage or loss. If you solve your problem, please post the solution…

That was it!
Looks like the front Fan is not working. The left fan was so loud I did not notice.
I did a calibration Self Test and it says there is a wiring problem. I tried looking at all of the connections, but everything seems in tact (see photos). It was shipped to me assembled so it must have worked at some time. Any suggestions on how to address this, or would you suggest just contact the support team?

did you check twice the plug of the print fan at the rambo board ?
consider that the polarity is relevant.

Re: Layers on angles are mangled badly

I had a similar issue with the fan not working and I didn't notice until a couple of bad prints.

When the fan is supposed to turn on (after the first layer) but it doesn't, try giving it a spin with your hand. Mine started spinning after the initial push. It was pure luck from then on whether it would spin the next time or not, so I had to wait until the first layer was done and then spin it by hand if needed. Obviously this was pain in the ass, so I've ordered 3 new fans and replaced it. It's been working great since then.

I removed the fan connector and re-attached it. The fan is now working
Thank you to everyone that assisted me in this!
