Re: How to fight the noise of the prusa mk2?

Hi all,

I would recommend looking at:

CNC Kitchen did detailed analysis of what is really going on with the noise, vibrations and resonances for prusa mk2. It was recently published on youtube.

Hope it helps. he did that with good engineering approach 😉

Re: How to fight the noise of the prusa mk2?

I stumbled onto this very recently but I use one of these ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000V7ARAU/ ). The "heavy" one works extremely well. I use to be able to hear my printer from outside my house. Now I can barely hear it through a hollow-core door. It provides so much damping (like sorbothane) that it doesn't need to be super springy like these things ( http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1707045 ). It doesn't wobble in the slightest and the mat has a rubber bottom so it definitely isn't gonna vibe itself off the table. There might be something better but this is 100% acceptable for me.

Those anti-vibration feet everybody mentions are great, and you can also print some additional parts with flexible filament that go on top and bottom, to reduce any eventual noise even further.

yall are way too over killing it.

just place small cubes of foam under each leg, make it 4cm thick.

this will reduce 80% of the noise
