Hose clamps in x ends for bearings
Hello there.
I'm trying to stiffen up my printer as stiffness related problems seems to be my last major issue after the introduction of linear advance in the last firmware inproved print quality so much. In trying to figure out the best place to start, I've been looking a lot at the openings in the x-ends that allows the bearings to be pushed in as I imagine that these openings allow the pieces to flex a slight bit.
I think the addition of a small groove in which a hose clamp can be inserted and tightened around the bearings might be a good way to stiffen it as the forces would then also have to stretch steel in order to expand the opening in the x-ends.
Do you guys consider the opening in the x-ends a weak-spot when it comes to stiffness or should I search otherwise?
Best regards,
Sebastian
