Heatbed Connection Problem
I had problems with my heatbed and it started to get a bit slower to heat up. Today I went to start a PLA print and the bed would barely heat.
So I troubleshooted based on the forum posts and discovered the root of my problem. The connector for the heated bed had melted.
What I am presuming happened (please correct me if wrong because I am only guessing) is that the connection started to loosen and as it did more current needed to get pumped through and in the end melting the connector.
As for course of action. Is the only thing I need to do is replace the connector?
What type of connector is it? I am assuming that it is a relatively common connector.
Re: Heatbed Connection Problem
For the time being I made the decision to directly solder the wire to the molex pin. I found the type of the connection and will get the proper connector at a later stage. Running the first print now and it is working perfectly.
Re: Heatbed Connection Problem
I had the same problem crop up this weekend. I attached a pic of my connector below. I wonder just how often this problem occurs? I would have expected the Prusa printer to not have these issues though.
Anyway, this is the connector you are looking for: https://www.digikey.com/products/en?keywords=WM7819-ND
