Gt2 Pulley size
One of my pulleys came with a very badly off center center hole, I am hopeful that this is contributing to my issues calibrating.
I know I can contact Prusa for a replacement, and may do so, but in the mean time I'm happy to purchase a new one elsewhere (amazon) so I can get printing sooner.
However, what size should I order?
Are they GT2 20T or GT2 16T?
Re: Gt2 Pulley size
Hi Peter,
Since I don't have an MK2 yet I can't tell for certain. What I would do is take the bad one off and count the teeth. That should tell you which it is. Or, you could email tech support and they can definitely tell you.
Re: Gt2 Pulley size
It is 16 tooth. Can you confirm it on the axis? Some are just deburred in a way it looks off axis.
Re: Gt2 Pulley size
Yea, its on my x axis currently and it doesn't rotate evenly, I can post a screenshot of it when I get home from work later.
Re: Gt2 Pulley size
Also I have a Kossel I might cannibalize a pulley from, if they are the same size anyway.
Re: Gt2 Pulley size
Here is my problem...other pulleys on order. This little offset makes a visible difference when rotating.
Turns out my kossel has 20T pulleys so I cant cannibalize them without knowing where to change the setting in the firmware source code.
I looked but it didnt stand out and I couldnt find it.
I suppose I could clone it and then do a text based search, but... i'd rather not modify it... until i get everything working well anyway. 🙂
Re: Gt2 Pulley size
You can change the steps/mm in Configuration_prusa.h
#define DEFAULT_AXIS_STEPS_PER_UNIT {100,100,3200/0.8,161.3} // X,Y,Z,E
or there is a GCode setting for it:
M92 X80
{or Y80}
This can be included in starting GCode.
