First few prints - issue with spherical objects

Hello, first post here. My MK2S has been printing square stuff without an issue but I tried to print a Pac-man and a piece for a lightsaber and I'm getting warping along the bottom of the pieces. The Pac-Man just wouldn't go. No idea where to start since this is my first printer. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance for your time.

Re: First few prints - issue with spherical objects

first: your live z adjustment for the first layer is very insufficient. if you tried it with the v2_calibration.gcode, no body would blame you (you need to be lucky to get it right with that method).
have a look at this thread (read at least until page #4 and get the point about finding the optimum at your assembly).

then, for the "spherical" rising edges: make sure not to use to much perimeters, or an infill too dense (approx. 20% is sufficient).... and maybe reduce the flow for bridging.
furthermore: try to set the layer height as large as possible and as low as necessary. usually printing stuff @200µm delivers very reasonable results.
the more layers you put inside a millimeter, the higher the warping forces are during the print.

dem inscheniör is' nix zu schwör...

All true, but to put it very plainly: You are printing on top of the bed, not attached too it. The PEI adhesion is so good when new though, that you can get away with it sticking.

Thank you, all. After calibrating with the square, I was able to get the pacman printed. It wasn't perfect, but I didn't get the spaghetti. It was kind of funny because I started it pretty late at night and I kept getting up to check on it. Thank you for providing the other articles. Especially the one about that great detailed first journey and the different things people try. Along with doing a better job with the live z adjustment, I also lowered my PINDA probe some. But I think I'm going to have to customize the height in the upper right of the bed. It seems like it's higher there than the rest of the bed. But, one thing at a time.

Thank you again for being so generous with your time and knowledge.
