firmware 3.0.3

Just installed .0.3. Extruder was up and bed out. When to Calibrate Z and it crashed the head to the bed and did not turn off the Z axis. Had to power it down. Next selected auto home and it move the bed to home and the x axis home and cycled the z axis up and down left the extruder tip touching the bed. Have not tried to run any prints yet. Think I will go back to 0.2 until some one advises if this is an adjustment problem on my end. 0.2 was working fine for me.

Re: firmware 3.0.3

Jay,

Did you perform a factory reset after installing 3.0.3?

Press and hold the rotary knob and the reset button until you hear a beep. Josef mentioned in a different thread that the procedure is covered in the manual.

Doing the reset has cleared up some strange post update behaviors for other people.

Yes, I did the reset. I just load 0.2 and it did the very same thing. Now I am questioning if I upgraded to 0.2 could I have been on one of the earlier version.
Does 0.3 check all 9 points when it does a Z axis calibration?

Re: firmware 3.0.3

I'm not going to be much more help. My guess would be yes, but that is just a guess.

My MK2 upgrade kit arrived today and I'll be building it over the weekend.

Re: firmware 3.0.3

Hi Jay,

There are some ´chances' that you upgrade with the mk1 firmware, instead of the mk2.

In every version (3.0.0, 3.0.2, 3.0.03) the calibration process uses the 9 points.

To be sure, triple check the firmware file and redo it again.

Just downloaded again, same results. Also when moving the the Z axis manually it move 10 times what the display show. When doing a live Z calibration it also moves 10 times what the display shows, X and Y axis are working fine.
Then prox sensor light show that it working.
Video of my cal.

Love the machine, Not sure if the update caused the problem or just happen that something else occurred,

Re: firmware 3.0.3

That's what I suspected.

The right file is named 1_75mm_MK2-RAMBo13a-E3Dv6full.hex and is found in the MK2 folder of the zip file.

The one you are using is for the mk1, thus only waiting a Endstop to trigger during Z homing.

There is a pdf document at the root level of the archive that explains how to choose the proper firmware file.

Correct file is 1_75mm_MK2-RAMBo13a-E3Dv6full.hex when you download and unpack FW it is inside MK2 folder.
