Filament stuck - can't remove nozzle assembly
I tried printing with ABS and the extruder jammed when I tried loading/unloading. I took off the idler and the ABS plastic was right to the top. I followed the instructions for taking off nozzle. The nozzle has some ABS in it, but the acupuncture needle went in fine (before I took it off) so I think that will just clear out with new filament?
The problem is that no new filament will go in. It is blocked to the very top. Further I can't get the whole nozzle+heat stop assembly out of the extruder head. I've reviewed the assembly instructions and the whole thing slid in easily. I want to get it out so I can inspect it, try heating it up to clear it, or last resort get a new one.
Any ideas?
Re: Filament stuck - can't remove nozzle assembly
seems that your ptfe tube is stuck underneath the hobbed pulley inside it's channel of the extruder body.
try to heat up that area with a hair dryer or a heat gun at about 70 - 80°C, then tilt the whole hotend with it's cooler outwards (at the opposite end -> where the heater block is located) and make sure that the rim at the top of the cooler can pass the complementary rim at the abs part of the extruder body.
then pull the whole thing downwards.
dem inscheniör is' nix zu schwör...
Re: Filament stuck - can't remove nozzle assembly
With a bit of heat I was able to pull the hot end loose! There was a lump of material at the very top of the white sleeve. I was able to unlatch that and then send in some filament in reverse to clear the blockage. Reassembling and was able to load some PLA as normal. Going back through calibration and am now trying the batman print.
Thank you very much for your help!
