Enclosure for MK2 - Max. Temps?
Hey,
i've build a Ikea Lack-Table-Enclosure for my MK2 (sides have been covered with plexiglass, front with a plexi-door).
I attached a in/out-Thermometer to check the temperature inside of the case.
If i print with PLA (headbed ca. 60°), the temperature inside raises to ~40°C.
Haven't printed ABS with ~100° headbed yet, but i think ~60°C are possible.
I think, 40° are OK for the PSU/Rambo - but above that, it would be too much. I could put the PSU outside of the case, but the Rambo...
Now, which solution i should use? I wanted a case, if i print ABS INSIDE of the House, i could attach a HEPA-Filter with a Fan (to filter the air + reduce temperature) - should i test the temps with this Fan+Filter, or should i put the PSU in any case outside of my enclosure?
Thanks 🙂
Re: Enclosure for MK2 - Max. Temps?
Just about every lack table mod I've seen, the power supply and screen were outside. I'm not saying its required, but it does make sense and can't hurt. I plan on doing just that myself.
As for filters, its my understanding with things like ABS theres not much we can do without a big monster filtration system to really solve the problem, so instead I am opting to use a dryer duct system to pump it outside. If someone with more experience knows something I havent seen yet, I'm all ears too.
Yeah, its that guy... 3D Nexus
