I have had the best luck using the SD Memory Card Formatter software from the SD Association.

Hello I had the same problem as you when formatting with a specialized software under Mac and and it did not work I tried with the Microsoft format of the finder and there it works, I now use an SD card of 128 giga without problem

I see the SD card inserted message but in menu the is a no sd card message. Empty folder with no file although but i copied a gcode file on it earlier.
How do i prepare a sd card so it is recognized by mk2

Thank you for this hint! I was having problems with my 32 Sd card not showing up on the printer but after formatting it on my laptop with the quick format box unchecked, it worked!

FAT32 should work without any issue. Just checked a spare SD 4GB card standardly formatted for FAT32.

What is the size of your SD card?

Check please your g-code file extension is correct.

Not sure if anyone is still having this issue but I was able to get my printer to read my card, 64 gb sandisk, by reformatting it as a FAT32. To format it as this I found a nice piece of free software, link below, that formats any size drive as FAT32. When you follow the link, click "Windows GUI version of fat32format" then click the picture and run the software. So far I have tested this on 4 new 64 gb SD cards by sandisk and all have worked.

I had issues, with the card reader not working. Turns out the size of the card was the issue. 64 GB, no go. 32, worked fine.

I was having this issue. Finally I formatted the SD Card (FAT32) with the "Quick Format" UNCHECKED and that worked!!

:? hi guys, have you ever calculated how many *.gcode files you could store on such big sd-cards ??? Indeed, but the bundled in card is 8GB. :D
:roll: it's going to be very confusing if you store 50 or more *.gcode files at a single sd-card when you try to navigate through it, using the little lcd console. Folders!

I put the bundled Gcode files into their own folders, then I have a folder for calibration files (eg. v2calibration, 1st layer calibration - similar to yours -, etc), and an Archive folder for Gcode that I may want to print again in the future (eg. I have some modular objects where I can print more pieces if I need too).
