ColorFabb nGen Print Issues (pics)

Hello,

I have been trying all sorts of settings for nGen filament to get the right quality and for the most part can get good prints. I like the quality and look of the nGen and have used it on Lulz without issues. My problem is that when printing layers that are expanding (towards overhang) the general settings recommended with the fan off cause quality issues. The only way I can get a clean print is with the fan on. With the fan on i have layer adhesion issues in that for a narrow part of the model it breaks easily at the layers.

My test mode for this is a low-poly Pokemon totodile. You can see in one shot the chin has quality (fan off) and in the other the quality is good but the legs break super easily (fan on). My settings:
Print Head = 230c
Flow = 100%
Speed = 40 m/s
Bed Temp = 85c
Fan On settings = 20% to 35% adjustable to 50% for bridging
or Fan Off

Before I waste more material I thought someone might have a good suggestion. Thanks. (BTW - Overhang isn't technically the right term but...)

Did you try the settings suggested by Omikron here:
http://shop.prusa3d.com/forum/print-tips-slic3r-settings-kisslicer-model-repair--f12/colorfabb-ngen-settings-t1818.html

Not sure if you already know that link, but it has some good pointers as well:

Hope this helps.

Yes, I started with those settings (using Slic3r not Simplify) as my baseline and referred back to the nFabb info when I was having problems.

I thought the 3 layer walls would be strong enough, but it doesn't seem to cut it. Increasing the temp makes the quality worse and I have some pretty bad warping.
