cannot get prints to stick

I have had my printer for almost a year now and I still can't figure out what I did wrong. I have to either; a.) resand the bed every couple of prints, b.) use a fresh glue coating every print, c.) recalibrate every filament change or a long time of idle. I know people like Prusa are using the printers close to 24/7 and printing well I feel the printer should not require this constantly. I have tried using closer z-axis adjustment, replacing the PEI sheet, and changing to polymer bearings. anyone have the same problem or know what could cause this?

p.s. I have used both pla and abs and must use an adhesive for both.

Aside from a good Live Z setting, a very clean PEI sheet (clean with pure acetone) is required. I find PLA sticks VERY well with these two things.

Any advices given are offered in good faith. It is your responsibility to ensure that by following my advice you do not suffer or cause injury, damage or loss. If you solve your problem, please post the solution…

Re: cannot get prints to stick

Did this recently start happening with the new firmware update? I was having issues with the first layer after I updated the firmware and I eventually found out it was because I was printing the first layer too fast. I had the first layer speed set at 50% so before with 60mm/s regular print speeds I was having 30mm/s first layer but with the new firmware I'm printing at 100-120mm/s which resulted in first layer speeds of 50-60mm/s causing the filament to curl up on the first layer. Once I lowered the first layer speed the filament stuck much better. The only issue I have now is due to the bed being bent in the front left causing the first layer height to be off in that corner of the bed.
