Buying a 4 months old Prusa Mk2??

Hey Guys,

New here
I have a friend that bought two Mk2 original Prusas and received them last december. Now he wants to sell one and I really want to buy it, however since my experience it is only with AliExpress Printers what should I look in the MK2 original in order to validate if the printer is good or not?

He is selling for 1k CAD, which is the same price when buy new but with no duty taxes.

What do you think?

THanks
Adriano

Kit or pre-built? If kit has your friend put it together?

Personally, I think I would be looking to pay significantly less than the price you have been offered. Or order a new printer with warranty and support (which you only get if you purchase from PR or a reseller).

Thanks Peter.

But it looks they have nothing in stock. Maybe the price is that high because there a huge waiting line.

No. PR have a lead time of 6+ weeks. Voxel order from PR and have to join the queue. Order from Voxel and you would have to wait a week longer (6 weeks + shipping time).

I do know that Voxel have had some very good reviews, so they should be the go-to seller for Canadians.

I just received my printer from Voxel on Friday (Feb 17). I ordered it Jan 7 so I feel like the wait time was reasonable. With buying from voxel you don't get a prusa brand filament, instead you get Materio3d which is a Canadian brand and they let you pick the colour. The Materio3d seems to print well enough and has a good finish plus you can probably buy it easier in Canada. Before I purchased the printer I contacted Prusa and they told me that wait times would be about the same with buying from Voxel. I'm assuming reseller get a little but of a rush on their orders.
