Bed level/PEI sheet damage issue

Somewhere while trying to calibrate my MK2s I must have let the hotend be too close to the bed(while hot) and it seems I have melted/scratched a small part of the bed(on the right).

Now also the right side of the bed doesn't seem correctly leveled. If a part of the print is over there it doesn't adhere well at all.

Now I have just realised when the printer probes the bed, one of the spots it probes is exactly where I have damaged the bed.

I assume it is detecting the bed is a little high on that spot and is adjusting accordingly, therefore throwing off that part of the bed?

If so, should I sand down that part of the PEI sheet?

Thanks!

Re: Bed level/PEI sheet damage issue

Running into the bed while calibrating inevitable leads to a failed calibration.

Do it again correctly and your 1st layers will be fine.
For the scratch as for the rest of your PEI sheet, use the rough side of a scotch brite kitchen sponge.
Although it will not disappear completely it will get smoother with time at least, for that
PEI material has some kind of "self healing" capabilities...
