Are Prusa using the new E3D Block and Thermistor yet?
I currently have a Printrbot with E3D V6, so I am quite familiar with the hotend used by Prusa.
I never liked the Thermistor arrangement on the E3D (Small thermistor bead, held in place by a screw) and have noticed that they now do a new "block" with a cartridge thermistor... Does anyone know if Prusa have plans to start shipping with this upgraded part? If so, I would like to wait until they do before i buy mine.
If not., has anyone considered the upgrade?

Looking at the pictures.. It looks like they are already using a "cartridge" based Thermistor.
On my E3D, I have some fibreglass sleeving on each leg of a thermistor bead.. The bead is pushing into a hole (Without the sleeve sliding back and shorting against the block) and then placed under a screw/washer, where its clamped down to stop it moving
Where as the "new" block just has a cartridge, so I assume thats whats already being used on the MK2S.
I looked at the build manuals for the MK2 and that shows the same block as me.. Where as looking at the MK2S it shows the new one, so i guess this was a stealth upgrade between the MK2 and MK2S.

PR adopted the new V6 almost as soon as it was released - mabe a year ago.

Cheers all.. Thats awesome news.. I HATE the thermistor setup in my E3D.. It works, but I don't trust it..
I assume you don't get the silicon socks with the Prusa... Is there any problem adding them? Do they just fit, or are any modifications needed?

they just fit.
personally I wound a single coated copper wire (0.5mm) at the top around the sock and the heaterblock and twisted its ends together, just to fix the sock.
so the sock wouldn't accidentially slip off the hotend when it hits an eventually upcurling print.
