OK, so I've install the new 3.0.6 on my MK2. Did a Factory reset (noticed it doesn't clear the count of total filament used) and then a Self Test. It said each thing was OK, then went back to the Info Screen and Self Test Failed! So I tried again (without touching anything) and it did it again... to cut a long story short it was only after I did the Self Test about 6-7 times that it finally said it passed!! What I don't get is if everything tested out OK then why the failed message at the end each time?
Another anomaly, The first time I tried to move the Z-axis up using the Move Axis menu options it also moved the bed back by about 5mm at the same time as doing the Z raise?!
Since then it's all worked fine and appears to be printing perfectly so far (1 hour into Tree Frog).

We have made an official release of the 3.0.6 firmware on github. Both the 3.0.6 source archive and the compiled firmware images are available at the github release page, including the change log.
https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware/releases
The sources are in the MK2 branch, they are tagged with "v3.0.6".
We will strive to follow this process in the future.

Has anyone else had this problem? After what seems to be successful calibration XYZ and I have correct parallel and perpendicularity, I do a Z height tune and that seems OK with the V2Calibration.gcode. But then trying to print with CURA gcode as soon as temperature is met on the bed and hot end the nozzle quickly goes to the start point and drives down hard into the print bed. I haven't tried any other slicer as I thought I'd try to see if anyone else has seen this issue before I damage my bed anymore.
Any thoughts will be appreciated. I have many successful prints with CURA and Slic3r on the 3.0.3 version of firmware. I like the new 3.0.6 fixes and really want it to work.

Most likely to be start gcode with the default Cura profile. I would strongly recommend that you print one or two of the provided GCode files and then use Slic3r to start with for slicing your own models.
Take a look at the GCode output from Slic3r and then compare that to your Cura output.

I like the new releases page on GitHub so well done there.
I wonder if something could be done to clean up the Slic3r section of GitHub? There are a lot of branches under it! While it's great that the latest release has it's own page it would be nice to now which is the current development version that is being worked on! None of the current branches seemed to have been worked on in months or even years!

Just upgraded to 3.0.7 and trying out the new XYZ calibration. I like how cautious it is with the Z-axis so far. The only software issue I've had with the printer was the head clashing with the print surface during calibration on certain instances, and the new software seems to be careful to make sure it has proper distance before it gets too close.
My only request now would be for a very quick way to raise the X-axis. I would like it if hitting the reset button would raise it 1 CM or so before resetting, in case of one of those clashing issues.

Hitting Reset means that the CPU goes to reset immediately, it's electric signal.
When I do something where I expect wrong behaviour, I do it with my finger on main power switch and simply power the printer off instead of reset. When powered off, Z axis can be moved up by hand rather easily.

Can't wait to update my firmware, will give trying to get my printer working a rest while I upgrade then back to trying to figure out what's wrong with my extruder 🙂

What I do not lie in doing it this way is that the extruder fan is then switch-off, letting the cold part of the extruder getting hot. There are some tolerance, but I wouldn't let it uncooled for more than a short time.
