Post Processor temps

I set my print up in Slic3r with a first layer temp of 215 and the rest at 210. After running the gcode through the Post Processor it sets the first layer correctly but the rest are set to 205. Why?

Really sorry I can't assist with your query; as you know I tend to use KISS, but when I do use Slic3r, I use 205 degrees for PLA. From experience with MM upgrade, 205 seems to work the best for most PLA filaments. Any hotter and you gan create strings on unload which can lead to blockages.

Peter,

Thanks. I just happened to try the one roll of filament I have that jams at 205. I can work around it but it would be nice if Prusa would document this somewhere. Maybe in the post processor have it warn that all temps after the first layer will be reduced.

I wonder how this is handled with ABS? What temp does it set?

Glad it is a bug and not a feature. Any idea when the new drivers will be released?

Re: Post Processor temps

Guys, what version of drivers do you have? I just tried temperature change for PLA/ABS and in both cases, the final values stayed. (Checked in the MM .gcode)

The latest on the Prusa site, 1.7.8.2. The post processor version shows to be 1.1.

Looking through the gcode, Layer 1 is 215, Layer 2 is 210 and the rest are 205.

The post processor I have is v1.2, but there has been confusion with version numbers on occasion.

I could suggest that you move over to the "dark side" and try out KISS...

It is OK in v1.2 "beta".

Hmm, where might I find 1.2?

Also, as you know I have had issues trying to figure out KISS. I'm all for trying it again but will the gcode it creates work with Prusa's processor? If I recall you had to program your own.

Thanks, Roman. Been using this since you posted and it works quite well. Beats having to save the g-code, post-process, and then copy to OctoPrint. Now I can just slice and send to OctoPrint.

Oh, and it keeps the temps I set.
