MM retraction from model to tower
HURRAH! I finally am getting MM prints out successfully! So now I get to be picky. I've printed with PLA and have noticed slender threads between the print and the wipe tower. Sometimes this means that a color that should be completely covered by another leaks through via these threads. Seems to me increasing the retraction for the moves to the tower would fix that. Is it possible, and if so, how? Thanks
Re: MM retraction from model to tower
This feature is not currently available in Slic3r (KISS does have this), but if you either lower the temps by a few degrees or increase retraction by 0.5mm, the stringing should go away.

Re: MM retraction from model to tower
Ok, thanks. I'll give it a try
Re: MM retraction from model to tower
Slic3r certainly retracts when moving to or from the wipe tower. The issue is a high pressure build up in the nozzle, which could be mitigated by the linear advance in firmware. We are currently tuning the linear advance for MM printers.

Vojtech - Is that a retract/move/prime or a retract /move and additional retract/prime additional/prime main retract
I find an additional 2mm retract during the move to/from the tower eliminates stringing, especially without linear advance, but also with preload.
