MK2 MM no Longer printing the nozzle prime line along the front edge of the bed
As of last night for some reason when I start a new print, my printer goes through the bed levelling steps and then goes straight into the print without doing the long nozzle prime line along the bottom of the bed... I did not do any upgrades.. If I print a files I sliced previously the prime line is there so somehow Slic3r removed the step ?? I reinstalled Slic3r but same results.. this is a strange one.
Slic3r version 1.37.2
MK2 MM version 3.1.0
the starting gcode in slic3r is:
M115 U3.1.0 ; tell printer latest fw version
; Start G-Code sequence START
T[initial_tool]
M104 S[first_layer_temperature] ; set extruder temp
M140 S[first_layer_bed_temperature] ; set bed temp
M190 S[first_layer_bed_temperature] ; wait for bed temp
M109 S[first_layer_temperature] ; wait for extruder temp
G21 ; set units to millimeters
G90 ; use absolute coordinates
M83 ; use relative distances for extrusion
G28 W
G80
G92 E0.0
M203 E100
M92 E140
G92 E0.0
M900 K200
Re: MK2 MM no Longer printing the nozzle prime line along the front edge of the bed
Yes, Slic3r no longer does the prime line in the "start gcode" as it is built into the slicer for MMU work (the purge line now has all colors used.
You should get a small "patch" that is maybe 5mm deep and 50mm long instead. This is new to the latest Slic3r.

Re: MK2 MM no Longer printing the nozzle prime line along the front edge of the bed
I must be missing something here.. after a filament has been loaded using the hardware menu, the nozzle still needs to be primed.. What I am seeing now is the printer going straight front bed levelling into the actual print.. so there is still no filament at the nozzle.. I should also note that I am only trying to use 1 filament in this example.
Re: MK2 MM no Longer printing the nozzle prime line along the front edge of the bed
Okay.
First. Have you loaded the .ini file (Mac) (I think the PC does not need this).
IF YOU ARE PRINTING WITH ONE COLOR:
And you are using PRINTER: "Original Prusa i3 MK2 MM Single Material" the start gcode should contain the purge line.
But if you are using PRINTER: "Orignial Prusa i3 MK2 Multi-Material" then the start gcode does not do a purge line, and you need a long skirt to prime. This mode is designed for two colors, and WILL do a purge line for more than one filament (in fact it will do both.)
IF YOU ARE PRINTING WITH TWO or MORE Colors:
Use PRINTER: "Orignial Prusa i3 MK2 Multi-Material" and it will do each color up front on the Y<5mm (or so) area, and will PAUSE after that so you can verify that they all primed correctly. You must hit resume to continue the print.
Does that help?

Re: MK2 MM no Longer printing the nozzle prime line along the front edge of the bed
Thanks, this makes sense now. I had made several gcodes using the MM slic3er, not in single mode, even though I was using only one, I just specified which extruder in the gcode. So maybe what happened was I didn't have an extruder selected so it didn't know which to prime.
