Err: MINTEMP and smoking extruder?
I just upgraded to MMU, after flashing the firmware (3.1.0) and running the calibration self-test, the following error came up:
Selftest error !
Please check:
Heater/Thermistor
Not Connected
Now, at this point the screen says Err: MINTEMP
Attempted to preheat. The bed heated to 55, but the nozzle temp was stuck at 166; however the extruder assembly started to smoke! We shut it down and dissembled the extruder assembly; nothing seemed damaged or burnt. However, our guess is there was a thermistor issue.
Double checked thermistor connection, everything seemed correct. To test if it was a thermistor issue, I swapped the bed heating cable with the thermistor one in the board.
Turned on the printer, and screen had a new error. Err: MINTEMPBED
So, seems the thermistor is shot. However, now we can't get either the bed or extruder to heat at all!
I've attached some pictures to show readout. Any guidance on this would be much appreciated!
Re: Err: MINTEMP and smoking extruder?
I don't recall if the MMU came with a new thermistor (?). If yes, you can just use the one from the original MK2S hotend. If no, you need a spare. Good news is that it's not that expensive.
