Effective purge tower size
Printed a bunch of MM test prints and they look great. Now testing an objects I modified to MM and printing a lighter orange and black together. It seems like the purge is incomplete because I'm having a little mixing (dirty orange) only on layers with both colors.
Anyone have experience with heavily contrasting colors? Need to increase the purge tower dimensions? Testing now at 60x25mm per color instead of 60x15mm (default) and will post results. Just seeing if anyone has other/better ideas.
Re: Effective purge tower size
To go from dark, opaque colours to light, translucent ones, you will probably need 80+mm of filament to be purged, maybe more.
Now I don't know how that translates to the size of a Slic3r tower, but it obviously needs to be larger than you currently have.
You could add another simple model with a third filament to print before the orange.
