Hi everybody,

I have an MK2S with the MMU and unfortunately I'm having the following issues:

I am constantly getting blockages in the PTFE tube under the multiplexer. When the printer switches the filament during the print, the filament has a "blob" that is too thick to go back up the PTFE tube.

Another issue is that often the filament just doesn't get extruded. It's loaded fine but nothing comes out during the print. If I am using two extruders, the one will come out fine but as soon as it switches to the other one, nothing comes out.

These problems are using multiple brands of PLA.

How can I fix this? :(

Thanks in advance.

FW: 3.1.0
Slic3r: 1.38.5 , 1.38.6 and lesser versions
Material: RS Components PVA, PrimaSelect PVA, AprintaPro PVA-M

The issue is simple really, the PVA is not sticking, tried:

- default profiles
- reduce the printing speed to a bare minimum
- reduce/increase the temperature
- increasing the extrusion multiplier
- other materials
- different FW, Slic3r versions

Nothing helped.

Color printing is usually working all right, the issue is with the PVA. 80% of the prints fails.
The material is stored in an IKEA plastics box with lots of silica gel inside.
Since I bought the MM upgrade only for a water soluble support and it's not working, I'm desperate. Any tips?

Kind Regards,

<t>Hello all,

I rebuilt my MK2S MMUed and did some testings. I fixed most of my issues (I think) and can now print in single color with the same quality and speed than without MMU, which tends to be a surprise since everybody is stating that MMU prints in a lesser quality, still can't figure why it should once calibrated (maybe because I calibrated it for a single filament so far ?).

Now, I'm experiencing something really odd : from times to times, when print starts, the wipe line is printed with the correct filament (E1 for example) but when the actual print begins, it changes for another tool (E2 each time...) without any tool change operation (cool...). Of course, you know the result, it jamms (for obvious reasons).

Is someone else experiencing this ?

PS : I am using S3D, it doesn't seem to be profile related since I experienced this issue with at least 2 different ones (one with a single extruder configuration, the other with 4 extruders one) and I can see the "T1" backtrace in S3D so the printer really thinks it must change tool. I exported gcode and check but this command doesn't exist in it. I am using hyperfine firmware for MMU, maybe this is the problem but I doubt it.</t>

Checking the comm log I see this:
The printer never recovers and I lose all the material that has printed to that point.
Is this a problem with the model, with the print server (Octopi) or the printer?
