How to reduce adhesion strength of PETG on PET bed?

Hi,

I installed new PEI film on the print bed. My MK2 has E3D Volcano  with 0.8 mm nozzle.

I calibrated the Z height to print ABS filament.  I printed small models using PETG filament and the adhesion was too strong, I broke the parts twice while I was removing.  I increased the first layer height from 0.3 mm to 0.6 mm to reduce the bonding strength but it was still hard to remove.

Gluestick or ABS juice or Windex - all reduce adhesion.

Increasing the first layer height will not do much by itself. Unsquishing the first layer by printing the first layer higher than its expected thickness will do more. Decreasing the bed temperature after first layer also helps. And of course waiting for full cool down after a print. And as Tim says, using a window cleaner liquid (like Windex/Windolene/..., I use a Leifheit Window Cleaner) for cleaning the bed before every print does limit the adhesion nicely, too.
