PrusaSlicer 2.1.0+ not slicing 1.5mm high ring
Hi there!
I am trying to slice a small ring that its 2.76mm ID 3.6mm OD and 1.5mm high and it does not slice properly. The thickness works out to 0.42 so with a 0.4mm nozzle this should be printable.
Any reason why PrusaSlicer is slicing only the first layer and stops there?? It says slicing complete but the result is just a single layer.
Is this a bug or did I hit some tolerance issue? Any thoughts ???

Default first layer extrusion width is 0.42 all other perimeters are set to 0.45. You have two options change the extrusion width or check "Detect thin walls".
RE: PrusaSlicer 2.1.0+ not slicing 1.5mm high ring
Update: I increased the OD to 2.00mm which in turn increased the thickness to 0.62mm and now it slices fine.
NVL I do believe 0.42 should have worked too. Any thoughts? is these a minimum line thickness based on the nozzle dia? if so, what is that number ?
TIA!
Alex

Have you enabled Print Settings->Layers and perimeters->Quality->Detect thin walls?

Perfect ! That you very much for your prompt replies!!
I had no idea about the thin walls option. This time I just changed the design but now I know what to do if I run into something similar again.
Thanks again!

RE: PrusaSlicer 2.1.0+ not slicing 1.5mm high ring
The underlying issue is that the slicer, by default, will not print walls narrower than a single extrusion of the nozzle size. This will show up as missing walls in the slicer preview. The thin wall option allows it to at least attempt the print. However, this is an indication that you might want to use a smaller nozzle size if this is a recurring problem.

@bobstro
I kinda figured that but since it was 0.42 I thought it could work with a 0.40 nozzle, but from another answer above, the minimum seems to be 0.45 w/o the thin walls option.
