Z Axis motor hot

I had gotten to the printer last night after it had been printing stuff all day and it was done with its print job but the display did say thermal runaway, though I could not see any issues, when I went to turn off the printer my hand brushed against the z-axis motor right there and it was quite hot to the touch, maybe 40-45c (the other motor is cool to the touch) and I have notice since I have had it a high pitched whining sound coming from that area, at first I thought it was the PSU but I think its the motor, any suggestions on this? and yes having the wires go strait back looked like it bent them coming out of the motor to much so both are turned inwards but the wire is not pinched.

Prusa i3 MK 2.5S, Ender 5 Plus, Monoprice Mini Delta.

Is it MK2?
Z-motors on MK2 are permanently powered to keep X-carriage level. It is featured since fw version 3.0.3 or maybe even older.
45°C on stepper is OK, high pitch sound is OK as well.

Ditto what David has said. If you want to reduce both these effects, you can switch to "Silent Mode".

Yes, the Z-axis motors are a bit warm when the printer is powered on without printing.

But that does not explain the 'thermal runaway' message.
