WiFi
Hi,
I was researching way how to add a WiFi to a MK2.5S printer. I was found https://github.com/probonopd/WirelessPrinting that seems promising. Did somebody try it?
RE: WiFi
easiest is add a raspberry pi 3b running octopi ( packaged OS and octoprint) connected by USB to the controller
RE: WiFi
What is your reason to add WIFI printing? You want to control your printer from another room?

PRUSA MINI+ Prusalink + Prusa Connect
RE: WiFi
Yeah, I know about the OctoPrint variant, but seems a bit overkill adding a full Raspberry Pi or even ZeroW.
Basically I just want to upload gcode file directly without SD card handling. Then I will start the print on printer manually. So yes the Wifi SD card would be perfect option.
I know that the new mini is powered via ESP8266 and I wanted to backport some of the features to my MK2.5S. So the reason for this solution is mainly for research and experimentation with different solutions. Thats all 🙂

I paid something like $45 for my 16 GB FlashAir card. A quick check on Amazon shows that they go for $43 and up. A Raspberry Pi, SD card and AC adapter will cost roughly the same and provide much more functionality and better connectivity. I only realized this after my FlashAir gave up the ghost after a year and I put in a Raspberry Pi temporarily (or so I thought) until I ordered a replacement. After 10 minutes with Octoprint, I regretted the time and effort I spent trying to get the FlashAir to work properly. The ability to launch a print alone is worth it.
