Thermal Runaway error
I have a mk2 printer (Original) that's been running like a tank for many many years, recently the last two prints stop with a "thermal Runaway" error on the screen. Is this possibly the hotend thermistor wire that's bad? I dont notice any temp changes in either the hotend or bed before this happens.
Also, I realize this printer is old, but it would be nice to have the spring steel bed on it like my MK3, is there a route via Prusa or other 3rd party to get this upgrade?
Thanks!
First check all connections, pull and replace. Then check the resistance of both the thermister and the heatbed. In both cases you are looking for a lowish value, neither should be a dead short or an open circuit. If you do find a dead short or an open circuit then first check for broken wiring or worn insulation.
is there a route via Prusa
You would need to go via the Mk2.5 upgrade route. You may need to source some components from a 3rd party.
